Thornapple Valley Community Credit Union is a member owned, not-for-profit cooperative financial institution. We were chartered by the State of Michigan on June 2, 1964.
TVCCU has been serving the financial needs of its members since that time. Members pool their savings, and lend to one another. Our members are united by a common bond, or field of membership. Our common bond is commonly known as a "Community Charter."
Because of our community charter, if you live or work in Barry County, MI, or if you are a relative by blood or marriage, you can Join TVCCU and become a member.
TVCCU receives its goals and directions from a 7 member volunteer Board of Directors. These non-paid volunteers are elected by the membership at each year's Annual Meeting, and serve a three year term.
TVCCU is governed by the State of Michigan and the Federal government. We must adhere to the laws, rules, and regulations set forth by the Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS) at the State level, and the National Credit Union Administrations (NCUA) at the national level.
TVCCU is a federally insured institution, and can state that deposits of at least $100,000 are backed and insured by the full faith of the Federal Government. The Insurance fund for credit unions is called the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, or the NCUSIF.
Our total commitment to member service keeps the ranks of our membership steadily growing. We currently serve approximately 6,000 members. Our front line staff, tellers and loan officers, give the most efficient and friendly service around.
